  • About the role

  • The role is based within the Transactional Finance Service, within the Finance Directorate. The Corporate Payments Team is responsible for all of the authority’s payments with the exception of payroll.

    The team is responsible for making approximately £1 billion worth of payments and processing 60,000 invoices every year. The Corporate and ASC Debtors teams provide an effective service to maximise the recovery of invoices issued. The Financial Assessments team financially assess all Adult Social Care clients and determine their contribution towards care fees.

    You will deliver administrative support for the above teams whilst studying for an AAT level 3 qualification in Accounting.

    About You

    You will need a good standard of education, obtaining at least Grade C in GCSE Maths and English or an equivalent qualification.
     
    Flexibility is a must for this role as you will need to be able to move effortlessly from task to task. You'll be keen and have the ability to learn, understand and apply legislation is required for the role.
     
    Good time management skills are essential as you will be expected to deliver tasks within specified deadlines.
     
    A working knowledge of MS Office, particularly in Excel and confidence with information technology is a must.
     
    Experience of working in a Finance team previously is desirable.
