We are seeking an experienced and passionate Principal Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to provide operational leadership within our domestic abuse service. This is a challenging and rewarding role supporting victims at the highest levels of risk while strengthening practice across the wider team.
The Principal IDVA will oversee high-risk and complex domestic abuse cases, ensuring robust risk assessment, safety planning and safeguarding responses. You will provide professional leadership, mentoring and line management to frontline IDVAs and Domestic Abuse Caseworkers, supporting staff development and promoting trauma-informed, victim-centred practice.
Working closely with police, housing, social care, health and other partner agencies, you will represent the service at MARAC and other multi-agency forums, advocating for victims and their children while helping to coordinate effective risk management plans. Alongside this leadership role, you will maintain a small caseload of high-risk victims, providing crisis intervention, advocacy and practical support.
You will also play a key role in quality assurance, service improvement and professional development by identifying trends, supporting reflective practice, delivering training, and helping strengthen multi-agency responses to domestic abuse.
This role offers an opportunity to shape best practice, support frontline staff and ensure victims receive consistent, high-quality support at times of crisis.
