  • About the role

  • Are you passionate about amplifying the voices of children, young people, and families? Do you have experience in working directly with service users to drive meaningful change? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for a Children's Participation Officer to join our team at Hillingdon, playing a central role in enabling co-production with children, young people, and their parents/carers. This exciting position involves leading group work, facilitating consultations, and gathering the views and experiences of those who use our services ensuring they are at the heart of what we do.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing Family First reforms, designed to improve services for children, young people and their families through a coordinated, multi-agency approach.

You’ll be based in the Children’s Participation Team, with strong links to the Transformation Team and other key services. Your input will help shape and deliver borough-wide service improvements that make a lasting difference.

    About You

    We’re looking for someone with:

    • Strong communication and advocacy skills

    • Confidence in using ICT systems and digital tools

    • Experience working with children and young people

    • A background of lived experience within safeguarding services (e.g., care-experienced or having previously had a social worker)

This role requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend work.

    Why Join Hillingdon?

    • Be part of a forward-thinking, supportive team

    • Have real influence on the direction and design of services

    • Help shape meaningful change at a borough-wide level

If you’re driven by creating better outcomes for children and families and want to be part of a team that’s truly making a difference, we want to hear from you.

For further information or informal enquiries, please contact Helen Smith ([email protected]), Head of Services – Children’s Services Transformation Lead.
