We are looking to recruit a dedicated Residential Care Worker (Night Shifts/Sleep-In) to join the team at one of our Ofsted Registered Children's Homes. Our home provides a warm, caring, and homely environment for children and young people aged (up to the age of 17 years) who need to be looked after in a residential setting.
As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role during night hours, offering support, supervision, and safety throughout the night. This includes monitoring the wellbeing of the young people, responding to any needs that may arise overnight, and completing relevant records and handovers. You will also be expected to complete sleep-in shifts, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining a nurturing environment at all times.
About the Person
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively engage with young people in a calm and supportive manner during night-time hours. You will contribute to the writing and implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management plans, and help ensure that the home remains compliant with Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).
This role also involves providing effective oversight of the home during night hours, including support and supervision of waking night staff, and collaborating with seniors, the deputy, and the registered manager as needed.
Previous experience working with young people is essential. You must also be flexible and committed, as the role requires working on a rota that covers overnight shifts, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays, 365 days a year.
