    Hillingdon Council is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Revenues and Benefits Services team. As a Revenues Recovery Officer, you will be responsible for the collection of Council Tax in accordance with legislation, local policies, and strategies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Revenue Collection & Recovery:

      • Collect Council Tax from Hillingdon residents, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and strategies.

      • Process accounts, applying reliefs, discounts, and exemptions accurately.

    • Customer Service & Negotiation:

      • Provide excellent customer service through face-to-face, phone, and email interactions.

      • Assist taxpayers with their inquiries and help resolve issues, including supporting them in court alongside court officers.

    • Recovery Procedures:

      • Carry out recovery procedures in line with Council Tax regulations.

      • Work closely with enforcement agents, the DWP, and internal departments to collect unpaid council tax.

    • Data Management & Administration:

      • Process information from all sources, including online facilities, ensuring accuracy and promptness.

    About You:

    Working as a Recovery Officer at Hillingdon Council is a challenging yet rewarding role. We’re looking for someone who is flexible and able to adapt to the changing demands of the service.

    To succeed in this role, you will need:

    • A working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and experience navigating databases effectively.

    • A minimum of two years’ experience working in a Revenues and Benefits or recovery role.

    • A clear understanding of Council Tax Legislation.
