  • Join our dedicated team at the London Borough of Hillingdon, where we are committed to supporting newly qualified social workers through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).     The post is for our Mental Health North Team within the Sustained Support Services in Adult Social Care. The team covers the north of the borough and are responsible for meeting the social care statutory duties for adults with mental health needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    As a Newly Qualified Social Worker, you will:

    • Undertake comprehensive assessments and reviews in line with the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation to identify needs and formulate person-centred support plans.
    • Monitor and adapt support plans as needs evolve, ensuring ongoing relevance and effectiveness.
    • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, service users, carers, and external partners to deliver holistic and effective support.
    • Engage with individuals in their homes and community settings to promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
    • Advocate for the rights of people living with mental illness, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, plans, and interventions.
    • Participate fully in the ASYE programme, which includes a reduced caseload, training, mentoring, reflective practice, and regular supervision to support your professional development.

    About You:

    • A degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
    • A commitment to completing the ASYE programme.
    • An understanding of the working with adults with mental illness and their carers.
    • An in-depth understanding of risk and risk assessments.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with people with lived experience, families, and carers.
    • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with other relevant external organisations.
    • Strong critical analytical and problem-solving skills to make robust decisions in complex situations.
    • Demonstrated commitment to promoting safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
