Vacancy type - secondment fixed term

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Early Years Entitlement Expansion Project Officer to lead on the delivery and development of our local authority’s Expanded Early Years Entitlement Programme. This is a vital role that supports the expansion of high-quality, inclusive childcare across the borough, ensuring children and families have access to the support they need.

    • Provide expert advice on business planning, sustainability, marketing, and quality improvement to early years providers.

    • Monitor and report on the uptake and effectiveness of the expanded early years entitlement, providing updates to the DfE and other stakeholders.

    • Collaborate with partners to promote the early years offer and ensure it reaches all parts of the community.

    • Support the development of provider networks and identify and share best practice.

    • Ensure alignment of services with strategic and local needs assessments.

    About You

    We’re looking for someone who:

    • Has in-depth knowledge of the early years and childcare sector, including the EYFS statutory guidance.

    • Brings excellent partnership-building and influencing skills across a range of stakeholders.

    • Has experience in managing projects, reporting on performance, and driving continuous improvement.

    • Is confident in working with providers on sustainability, funding applications, and business planning.

    • Understands the barriers families face in accessing childcare and is committed to reducing inequalities in service access.

    • Be at the forefront of an important government initiative that improves life chances for children.

    • Work in a collaborative, forward-thinking team committed to delivering positive outcomes.

    • Gain exposure to strategic planning and service development in a local authority setting.

    • Make a lasting impact in your local community.
