  • About the role

  • London Borough of Hillingdon are looking for housing professionals to join or Homeless Prevention Team on a permanent basis. Our prevention team works with customers to assess their housing needs, establish and communicate the statutory duties owed, and work with them to prevent and relieve their homelessness to achieve positive outcomes.

We are looking for proactive individuals who can take an innovative approach to problem-solving, are effective negotiators and can provide a high quality of service to customers with housing concerns. An ability to communicate clearly and effectively to customers, landlords, accommodation providers, partner organisations and other professionals whilst providing a high quality of service and customer care to all community groups is essential.

You will need to be efficient, effective and empathetic in your approach as you support individuals using plain English to achieve their housing goals and realistically manage expectations in a service with a high demand and challenging resources available, encouraging those who approach us for advice and assistance to work with us to resolve their own housing situation.

Preference will be given to applicants who have worked in a homeless prevention capacity but training will be provided to the right candidate who can demonstrate the qualities and skills required for this role.
