  • About the role

  • Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker looking to take the next step in your career?
We are seeking Social Workers and Senior Social Workers to join our Community Adult Social Work Team, based at the Civic Centre in Uxbridge, serving a diverse and vibrant London Borough.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with adults with a wide range of needs, supporting them to improve their well‑being, maintain independence, and live with dignity. You will use a strength‑based approach to empower residents, helping them build resilience, problem‑solve, and develop practical skills to enhance their quality of life.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will carry a complex caseload, including older adults and individuals with physical disabilities, and contribute to high‑quality, person‑centred practice across the team. You may also provide supervisory support and guidance to up to two team members.
    What You’ll Do
As a Social Worker or Senior Social Worker, you will:
    • Work collaboratively with health professionals, care providers, and families to develop personalised, outcome‑focused care plans.
    • Manage a caseload (complex for Senior Social Workers) and take the lead on cases requiring specialist knowledge or experience.
    • Undertake Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Act assessments, Best Interest decisions and Section 117 reviews.
    • Respond to safeguarding referrals, carry out risk assessments, and lead on Section 42 enquiries, ensuring proportionate and timely protection plans.
    • Promote independence, prevention, and the least restrictive options in line with the Care Act 2014.
    • Support the development of colleagues by offering guidance, case advice, and (where applicable) supervision.
    About You
We are seeking qualified and experienced Social Workers who:
    • Hold Social Work England registration.
    • Have strong experience in delivering statutory functions, including Care Act assessments, safeguarding adults, and MCA practice.
    • Have experience in adult safeguarding, hospital discharge, community work, or urgent response services.
    • Are confident in undertaking complex assessments and making defensible, evidence‑informed decisions.
    • Have completed PEPS (Practice Educator Professional Standards) or have a strong desire to undertake this training.
    • Demonstrate creativity, professional curiosity, and a commitment to improving outcomes for adults with care and support needs.
    • Bring excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, working collaboratively across agencies.
    • Are motivated, organised, resilient, and ready to contribute to a high‑performing team.
    • Have strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Human Rights Act 1998.
    • Are committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
    Why Join Us
    • Become part of a highly regarded Adult Social Work service and play a key role in improving outcomes for residents across Hillingdon.
    • Access clear progression pathways, including opportunities to pursue AMHP training, Practice Educator development, and other CPD.
    • Contribute to essential services that support residents to maintain independence, dignity, and safety.
    • Join a supportive team environment where your expertise is valued and your professional growth is actively encouraged.
If you are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of adults with complex needs, we would love to hear from you.
