  • About the role

  • We are seeking a committed and passionate SEND Clinical Psychologist to join our positive and collaborative team based in Uxbridge, with the option for hybrid working. This role sits within the new, small multidisciplinary EHCP Plus Team under the Educational Psychology Service, working closely with other SEND services to support children and young people (CYP) with complex needs who have an EHCP.

As a SEND Clinical Psychologist, you will:

    • Provide specialist psychological support within educational settings, enabling CYP with SEND to access mainstream education and develop the emotional, social, and behavioural skills necessary for inclusive living and lifelong learning.
    • Deliver high-impact interventions for CYP with complex needs, working collaboratively with schools, families, and professionals.
    • Conduct specialist psychological assessments, design and monitor behaviour support plans, and offer expert advice and training to school staff, families, and carers.
    • Support mainstream educational settings in implementing EHCP provision, promoting inclusion, and preventing suspensions, exclusions, and placement breakdowns.
    • Lead on case planning, contribute to multi-agency reviews, and provide expert input in tribunal and mediation cases.
    • Champion inclusive practices, developing guidance and training to empower CYP with complex needs to achieve their potential.
    • Play a key role in implementing elements of the Hillingdon SEND and AP Strategy Ambitions and improvement plan, following the Local Area SEND Ofsted Inspection.

    What We’re Looking For

    • A qualified Clinical Psychologist with registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
    • Experience in specialist psychological assessment and intervention for CYP with SEND, including those with significant learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge.
    • Strong skills in consultation, training, and supporting educational staff and families.
    • Commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for CYP with complex needs.
    • Ability to work flexibly, travel within Hillingdon, and contribute to service development and innovation.
