  • About the role

  • We are seeking a proactive and organised Fostering Placements Coordinator to join our Children’s Services Fostering Team on a 19-month fixed-term contract. You will play a crucial role in supporting the placement process for children and young people in care, ensuring they are matched with the right foster carers in a timely and safe manner.

    In this role, you will:

    • Coordinate placement referrals, managing information accurately and efficiently
    • Maintain close communication with foster carers, social workers, and independent fostering agencies

    • Support emergency and same-day placements, responding promptly to urgent needs

    • Assist with administrative tasks such as drafting placement agreements and maintaining electronic records in line with safeguarding standards

    • Provide regular updates to senior staff and contribute to team meetings and planning

Flexible and hybrid working options are available to help you balance your professional and personal commitments.

    About You

You are someone who thrives in an organised, detail-focused role and understands the importance of fostering and safeguarding vulnerable children. You will bring:

    • Experience in an administrative or coordination role, preferably within children’s services or a fostering environment

    • A basic understanding of fostering principles and safeguarding requirements

    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sensitivity when handling confidential information

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with data entry, with a willingness to learn new case management systems

    • A calm, professional approach and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team committed to supporting children and carers

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post, and occasional out-of-hours flexibility may be needed.
