  • About the role

  • Are you seeking a meaningful role where your skills can truly make a difference? Do you thrive in a challenging yet rewarding environment, helping support some of the most vulnerable members of our community? If so, we invite you to join us as a Corporate Collections Officer for a fixed term contract (18 months), specialising in the collection of Adult Social Care charges.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your financial expertise, administrative skills, and customer service abilities to ensure residents are contributing correctly towards their care costs. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting Hillingdon’s Adult Social Care services by providing a responsive and effective collections function.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Maximising income recovery by engaging with residents, families, and other stakeholders via phone, letters, email, and in-person.

    • Handling sensitive queries with empathy and professionalism, ensuring complex financial matters are clearly explained and understood.

    • Collaborating closely with colleagues across internal departments and external organisations to implement appropriate recovery actions.

    • Maintaining accurate records, monitoring accounts, processing credit notes and refunds, reconciling statements, and updating systems.

    • Producing clear and timely reports, sharing progress and findings with Principal Officers and Managers.

This role requires excellent time management and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while navigating local policies and statutory legislation.

    About You

We’re looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with a compassionate approach:

    • You have previous experience working in a financial or debt recovery environment and understand how to manage sensitive information professionally.

    • You have excellent administrative and communication skills, with confidence handling a variety of correspondence across different platforms.

    • You're proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience using financial systems, with a good understanding of relevant legislation and guidance.

    • Your attention to detail is second to none, and you're comfortable working to deadlines in a structured and regulated environment.

    • Ideally, you have experience or an understanding of Adult Social Care services, allowing you to approach each interaction with sensitivity and understanding.

    Why Join Us?

Bring your commitment, empathy, and financial acumen, and we’ll provide a supportive and collaborative environment where your impact is both valued and visible.

Please refer to the attached job description for a full breakdown of the essential and desirable criteria.
