  • About the role

  • Hillingdon Council is excited to announce the creation of multiple new Service Manager roles as part of our commitment to national reforms and the transformation of family support services. These roles will focus on ensuring that family help is central to our work. As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing and delivering services that align with legislation, National Standards, safeguarding procedures, and local policies. You will lead the development of multi-disciplinary practices to optimize resources and deliver effective services to children, families, and carers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the planning and implementation of services across all areas, ensuring effective service delivery.
    • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships within the council and with external partners.
    • Manage and monitor financial budgets, ensuring expenditure is in line with council policies.
    • Oversee the recruitment, retention, and ongoing development of high-quality services.
    • Provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring that service plans and performance targets align with statutory requirements and local priorities.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Proven experience in managing and delivering services in compliance with legislation, National Standards, safeguarding procedures, and local policies.
    • Strong background in developing multi-disciplinary practices and optimizing resource use.
    • Experience in establishing and maintaining joint planning, service delivery, commissioning, and purchasing with other agency bodies.
    • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain strong partnerships within the council and with external partners.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills.
    • Strong financial management and budget monitoring abilities.
    • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
    • Proven ability to inspire and lead a team, driving continuous improvement in service quality and delivery.
