If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Cemeteries and Crematorium Team Leader to join our Green Spaces, Sport and Leisure team within Resident Services at the London Borough of Hillingdon.
As a Cemeteries and Crematorium Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring that our cemeteries, churchyards, and crematoriums are maintained to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Cemeteries and Crematorium Team Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring a dignified and professional service for residents.
You will be responsible for supervising staff, carrying out site inspections, and ensuring all burial services comply with health and safety regulations. Your role will also include responding to public enquiries, investigating incidents, and assisting with administrative tasks.
About you
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with experience in cemetery operations and a strong commitment to delivering excellent public services. You should have a good understanding of health and safety legislation and the ability to manage work schedules effectively.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture or Conservation (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in cemetery operations and site maintenance
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle public enquiries sensitively
- A full UK driving licence
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations related to cemeteries and crematoria
- Ability to use standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Word and Excel
