  • About the role

  • We are seeking a committed, reflective and forward-thinking Senior Educational Psychologist to join our positive and collaborative Educational Psychology Service. This leadership role offers the opportunity to shape practice, support service development and make a meaningful impact for children, young people and families across the borough.

You will work closely with the Principal Educational Psychologist (PEP), providing professional leadership across the team and contributing to a culture of excellence, inclusion and resident-focused practice. Hybrid working is available.

    Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Educational Psychologist, you will:

    • Provide visible, psychologically-informed leadership across the Educational Psychology Service, supporting a high-quality, ethically robust and evidence-based offer

    • Deliver expert supervision to Educational Psychologists and Trainee EPs, ensuring reflective, safe and effective professional practice

    • Lead and contribute to key service-wide projects, supporting strategic initiatives, innovation and continuous improvement

    • Undertake psychologically informed assessments and interventions for children and young people aged 0–25 in line with the Children and Families Act and SEND Code of Practice

    • Promote inclusion, wellbeing and positive outcomes through systemic work, consultation, training and capacity building across Early Years settings, schools and colleges

    • Provide high-level case formulation support, problem-solving and specialist advice to internal and external partners

    • Support operational planning, performance monitoring and workforce development alongside the PEP

    • Model high expectations, strong organisational skills and a culture of “putting our residents first”

This is an exciting opportunity to balance leadership with applied psychology, while contributing to a service committed to reflective practice, innovation and high standards.

    What We’re Looking For

    • A qualified and HCPC-registered (Senior) Educational Psychologist

    • Strong experience delivering statutory and non-statutory psychological services for children and young people with SEND

    • Skilled in consultation, assessment, systemic working and providing high-quality supervision

    • Ability to manage competing demands, lead projects and support service development in a fast-paced environment

    • A strong commitment to inclusive practice, evidence-based psychology and positive outcomes for children, young people and families

    • A collaborative, reflective and values-driven professional who can model best practice and influence those around them

    Our Values

We are a service grounded in respect, collaboration, efficiency, integrity and openness.

We celebrate diversity, foster a reflective learning culture and work together to deliver high-quality psychological services for our community.

At every level, we are committed to putting our residents first.
