You will work directly with children at risk of re-offending, assessing risk and need, delivering targeted interventions and contributing to improved outcomes for young people and communities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Accept referrals and undertake assessments of children’s criminogenic needs, risk of re-offending, risk of harm to others and risks to their own safety and wellbeing.

    • Devise, implement and review multi-agency intervention plans according to assessed risk.

    • Deliver interventions designed to reduce re-offending and serious harm.

    • Prepare and present written reports to Referral Order Panels, Youth Court and Crown Court.

    • Represent the Youth Justice Service within Hillingdon Youth Court and attend other courts as required.

    • Interview children and relevant persons in police stations, homes, offices, secure establishments and other appropriate venues.

    • Work with children in secure settings to support resettlement and reduce re-offending.

    • Record assessments, decisions and analysis accurately using the YJS case management system.

    • Work collaboratively with police, probation, health, voluntary sector and other partner agencies.

    • Act in compliance with legislation, National Standards and local policies, particularly in relation to safeguarding and risk management.

    About You

    You will:

    • Have experience working with children and young people in a statutory or youth justice setting.

    • Be confident assessing risk and delivering targeted interventions.

    • Have strong report writing and court presentation skills.

    • Be able to work effectively in multi-agency environments.

    • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, equality and professional standards.

    • Be reflective in practice and committed to continuous professional development.
