  • About the role

  • Are you passionate about supporting young people to turn their lives around and stay out of the criminal justice system? Join our innovative and dedicated team as a Turnaround Justice Officer and help deliver life-changing interventions for children and young people in Hillingdon.

As a Turnaround Justice Officer, you’ll lead on delivering and coordinating tailored, evidence-based interventions for children identified under the Turnaround programme criteria. These may include children with first-time youth cautions, those receiving community resolutions or No Further Action decisions, and others in early stages of justice system involvement.

Your role will focus on helping children achieve positive, sustainable change - diverting them from further involvement in the criminal justice system and reducing reliance on statutory services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage a caseload of children referred through Turnaround project criteria.

    • Conduct Early Help Assessments and create bespoke intervention plans.

    • Deliver or coordinate targeted, evidence-based support in partnership with external agencies.

    • Use creative and persistent approaches to engage children and their families.

    • Record and monitor casework progress, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

    • Contribute to service planning and support continuous improvement.

    • Manage a small interventions budget to deliver impactful support.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Experience working with children and young people, particularly in early intervention or diversion programmes.

    • Strong assessment and case management skills.

    • A creative, proactive approach to engagement and problem-solving.

    • Confidence working with a range of professionals and partners (e.g., education, police, social care).

    • Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation relating to children and young people.

    • A commitment to upholding the Youth Justice Board’s Child First principles.

    What We Offer

    • A chance to make a genuine impact in a child’s life.

    • A supportive, collaborative team environment.

    • Opportunities for professional development and training.

    • A clear career pathway within youth and family services.

This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026.

Help shape brighter futures and be part of a team that puts children first. Apply now and take the next step in your career.
