There are a number of casual opportunities available within Hillingdon Music Service.
Hillingdon Music Service is looking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Casual Officers to support the delivery of a wide range of music activities, events and tuition programmes across the borough.
This is a varied role that combines safeguarding responsibilities, customer service, event support and administrative assistance. You will play an important part in ensuring that children and young people can participate safely in Music Service activities, including after-school and weekend tuition centres, concerts and special events.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will help maintain safe and welcoming environments, provide assistance to students, parents and visitors, support event delivery and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.
You will:
- Support the supervision and safeguarding of children and young people attending Music Service activities and events.
- Assist with the safety and security of premises during Music Service sessions and events.
- Monitor public areas to ensure they remain safe, clean and accessible.
- Provide a welcoming and professional service to students, parents, visitors and staff.
- Assist with concerts and events, including ticket distribution, front-of-house duties and customer enquiries.
- Support emergency procedures, including acting as a First Aider and Fire Warden following appropriate training.
- Record student attendance and absence information.
- Respond to enquiries and direct questions to the appropriate members of staff.
- Support the movement and handling of musical instruments and equipment in accordance with manual handling guidance.
- Log and report maintenance, health and safety and safeguarding concerns.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including photocopying music, relaying messages and maintaining records.
- Ensure buildings are left clean, safe and secure at the end of each shift.

No specific qualifications are required; however, experience working with children, young people, customers or within events, education or community settings would be advantageous.
The role requires regular contact with children and young people and includes responsibilities relating to their supervision and welfare.
