We are offering a part-time position working 2 x 9 hours per week within the Southwest Locality Team, Universal Offer – Hillingdon Youth Offer. Our offer runs throughout the year and across the whole borough of Hillingdon.
The work pattern includes daytime, afternoon and evening shifts, weekend shifts, and occasional residential work. The salary advertised will be pro-rated.
The Universal Team works with children and young people to deliver high-quality, consistent youth work through locality-based, detached, outreach, specialist and accredited programmes across the borough, in collaboration with statutory, community and voluntary sector partners.
Our work is responsive to need, supports aspiration and is delivered in safe spaces and places. We provide opportunities that promote personal and social development, encourage children and young people to make informed choices, and respect and value difference.
These posts sit within our Universal Team in the Southwest Locality, supporting the expansion of our offer for children and young people.
You Will:
- Work directly with children and young people through youth clubs, outreach activities, projects and programmes.
- Support the delivery of high-quality youth work across a range of settings and locations.
- Build positive relationships with children and young people, encouraging participation and engagement.
- Help deliver activities that promote personal development, wellbeing, resilience and positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, community organisations and partner agencies.
- Contribute to planning, delivering and evaluating youth work programmes and activities.
- Support the identification and engagement of children and young people who may benefit from additional opportunities and support.
- Promote inclusion, equality and diversity in all aspects of service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and reporting requirements.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including evenings, weekends and occasional residential activities.
About You
The successful candidate will be committed to taking a positive, holistic and empowering approach to service delivery.
We are looking for individuals with experience working with children and young people within formal or informal education, youth work or community settings. You will have a strong understanding of the issues facing children and young people today, alongside a creative and dynamic approach to engaging hard-to-reach and vulnerable groups.
No specific qualification is required for this role and full training will form part of the induction process. A willingness to learn and a commitment to supporting children and young people is essential.
