  • About the role

  • Are you an experienced and dedicated Social Worker? Do you have a passion for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Our Specialist Adolescent Team collaborates with families and young people to reduce risks to children in a timely manner. Within this role, you will be accountable for the development and delivery of high-quality social work practice, contributing to service-wide improvement activities in line with policy, best practice, professional standards and legislation, ensuring that our young people are always at the centre of our intervention chain.

In return, we will provide you with dedicated supervision and development opportunities to enable you to become the best you can be, plus we offer a retention payment of £4,250 per annum for Social Workers working in our Children in Need and Need of Protection teams.

    About You:

We are looking for Social Workers who have children's rights inscribed in their hearts and children's aspirations focused on their minds. We seek experienced, knowledgeable and skilled social workers who are committed to achieving better outcomes for our children and their families every day.

    Requirements:

    • A Social Work qualification.
    • At least 12 months' postgraduate experience and completion of your ASYE, where applicable.
    • Evidence of a commitment to your own development since qualification.
    • Registration with Social Work England.
    • Previous experience working in a Children in Need or Child Protection service.
    • A creative and flexible approach to work.

What We Offer: How Will We Help You Develop as a Social Worker?

    • As part of the West London Alliance and West London Teaching Partnership, Hillingdon has a PCF/KSS-led training programme to provide all Social Workers with focused development opportunities.
    • You will be surrounded by emotionally intelligent, dedicated Social Workers and leaders who model a "Children First" ethos. Every conversation you have will enhance your learning.
    • You will have regular reflective supervision and group supervision.
    • You will be trained to use risk assessment tools and apply strength-based models of restorative practice to achieve the best outcomes for children.
    • You will be provided with equipment to support mobile and flexible working.
    • You will receive regular feedback from children and young people about your practice and how it impacts their lives.
    • You will have access to a clear career pathway with opportunities to grow in accordance with your talent and aspirations.
