You will:
-
Deliver risk-based and advisory audits across a diverse range of Council services.
-
Plan, scope and manage audit assignments from inception through to final reporting.
-
Produce clear, evidence-based audit reports with practical and proportionate recommendations.
-
Support and mentor junior members of the Internal Audit team.
-
Use data analytics to strengthen audit testing and identify trends and risks.
-
Contribute to the development of the Internal Audit Plan and wider service improvements.
-
Build effective working relationships with managers and stakeholders across the organisation.
-
Promote good governance, effective risk management and strong internal controls.
About You
We are looking for someone who is analytical, organised and committed to delivering high-quality audit work.
You will have:

-
A good understanding of audit methodology, internal controls and risk-based auditing.
-
The ability to manage multiple audit assignments and work independently.
-
Strong analytical skills, including experience using data to support audit work.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and constructively.
