We are looking for a CCTV Evidential Review Officer to join our CCTV Control Room team, helping to protect residents, prevent crime and support emergency services across the borough.
Working in a fast-paced, 24/7 control room environment, you will proactively monitor the Council's CCTV network, respond to incidents as they happen, and ensure high-quality evidential footage is captured and managed in line with legal and operational standards.

As a CCTV Evidential Review Officer, you will play a key role in supporting community safety by monitoring over 3,000 CCTV cameras across the borough. Working closely with the Police, London Fire Brigade, Council services and other partner organisations, you will help detect and deter crime and anti-social behaviour while ensuring all evidence is managed securely and professionally.
You will:

Proactively monitor CCTV cameras to detect crime, anti-social behaviour and incidents requiring intervention.

Record, review and download CCTV footage to evidential standards for use by the Police and the courts.

Liaise with the Police, emergency services and Council teams to support live incidents.

Maintain accurate incident logs and records of evidential material.

Manage the secure storage and release of CCTV footage and related media.

Ensure all CCTV operations comply with legislation, data protection requirements and operational procedures.

Carry out administrative duties relating to incident management and evidential records.

Support quality assurance activities and report operational faults where required.

Maintain the security of the CCTV Control Room and associated systems.

Attend court to provide evidence where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is professional, reliable and able to remain calm in challenging situations.

The ability to remain calm and respond effectively under pressure.

Good IT and administrative skills.

Experience working within a CCTV, security, control room, emergency services or similar operational environment would be advantageous.

An understanding of confidentiality, data protection and evidential procedures.

The ability to work effectively with partner agencies including the Police and emergency services.

A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and supporting safer communities.
This role is based on a two-week rolling rota, averaging 28 hours per week, with shifts worked between 9:00am and 5:00pm. The rota repeats every two weeks.
Post 1
Week 1:
- Work Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
- Rest Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Week 2:
- Work Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Rest Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
Post 2
Week 1:
- Work Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Rest Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
Week 2:
- Work Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
- Rest Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The two-week rota then repeats.
