We are seeking four experienced Lawyers to join our highly regarded Commercial team in Legal Services on a fixed-term basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a varied and challenging caseload across the full breadth of residential and commercial property matters, supporting the delivery of key Council priorities and projects.
You will provide high-quality legal advice and support on a wide range of transactions and projects, including:

Residential and commercial acquisitions and disposals.

Land and property regeneration schemes.
-
Development and strategic property projects.
-
New leases, lease renewals and licences.
-
Easements and rights affecting land.
-
Right to Buy transactions.
-
Section 42 Lease Extensions.
-
General landlord and tenant matters.
-
Property-related advice to Council departments and stakeholders.
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative legal team, you will manage your own caseload while also assisting senior colleagues on complex, high-profile and strategically important matters.
About You
We are looking for qualified Solicitors, Barristers or Chartered Legal Executives, or equivalent, with substantial experience in property law.
You will have:

Excellent technical knowledge of residential and commercial property law and practice.

Significant experience handling a broad range of property transactions and matters.

Strong drafting, negotiation and advisory skills.

The ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively to competing deadlines.

Experience of providing clear, practical and solution-focused legal advice.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

A proactive and collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues.
Experience gained within a local authority legal team would be advantageous, although applications from candidates with relevant private practice or public sector experience are welcomed.
